Our Early Childhood
Teachers and Assistant Teachers are certified through Wisconsin’s Registry for early childhood
professionals. This system recognizes each individual’s accomplishments based on their early
childhood coursework and degrees earned through a technical college or four year college, all additional
training related to early childhood education and their experience working with children. All staff
working with children under the age of two years receives additional certification and training in
working with Infants and Toddlers. Upon hire, every teacher receives training on Abusive Head Trauma
(formerly Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS), SIDS, recognizing child abuse and neglect, Wisconsin licensing
standards, and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, as well as behavior management and
positive discipline. Within their first three months of employment all staff are certified in First Aid
and CPR. Teachers and Assistant Teachers are required by the State of Wisconsin to complete continuing
education hours every year on various topics related to early childhood, preschool and child growth and
development.
At K.C.C., we value our staff and therefore work with each one to continue their personal and
professional growth. As a center, we enable their professional growth by providing resources such as the
resource library, access to additional resources outside the center, paid trainings, and paid time to
plan and prepare. We recognize that in order for our staff to care for others, their needs must also be
addressed. We provide an employee lounge for breaks, competitive compensation, child care discount,
retirement, paid sick time, vacation time, holidays and much more.
